FCICA Events App

Last updated on January 15, 2020

In 2014, I embarked on a journey to create a mobile app to be utilized during  FCICA‘s annual Mid-Year Meetings and Conventions. Using CrowdCompass by Cvent, I was tasked to use an online dashboard to modify a mobile app template to create FCICA’s desired app. This included creating color palettes and app graphics such as the Mid-Year 2014 banner advertisement to follow @FCICA2 on Twitter, the banner advertisement about the Certified Installation Manager training program that linked to its respective page on FCICA’s website, and various other graphics.

I worked with FCICA’s staff to select colors and graphics, update the in-app banners, and load new content, always looking for ways to improve the user experience.

I helped several committee meetings go entirely paperless by providing all their documents in private sections on the app, and staff can more effectively answer questions with the help of resources in the staff-only section. Speakers are now able to incorporate live polling and Q&A into their sessions, and attendees can earn points for exploring the app to compete to be #1 in the leaderboard game.

I also curated content onsite at Convention 2017, including a Daily News piece that provided attendees with the day’s schedule, a tip for the mobile app, and pictures from the day before.
